About Sheves Shimon
Sheves Shimon is famously known for his long alliance with Yitzhak Rabin. In the Eulogy he gave for the late Prime Minister’s funeral he recalled how he accompanied Rabin in moments of darkness and mourning, as well as during times of great light and happiness in developing the country and realizing the vision of peace.
In 1984 Sheves Shimon was appointed as Rabin’s Aide in charge of National Infrastructure, Settlements & National Priority Regions and as Rabin’s Political and Personal Aide, during the time Rabin held the position of Defense Minister. During this period, Sheves Shimon was also board member of several government companies and national bodies, including the Israel Lands Administration Council, Israel Aircraft Industries and Israel Military Industries and a member of the Advisory Committee for Rafael (Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., formerly - Armament Development Authority).
Sheves Shimon also held the position of Chief of Staff and General Director of the Prime Minister’s Office during Rabin’s reign as Israel’s Prime Minister.
Following Yitzhak Rabin’s murder on 4th November 1995, Sheves Shimon decided to leave the Israeli political arena and he changed his career direction to begin working within the private sector. He joined various esteemed investment panels and earned himself a highly regarded status.
Sheves Shimon co-founded RSLB Partners in 2002, using the principle of introduction of Israeli companies to US markets. On behalf of companies such as high-tech and governmental agencies, RSLB provides their clientele with a wide assortment of services including management of companies’ products, even at development stage, proving to be positive on both the Israeli and the US sides.
RSLB’s headquarters are located in Washington and has acquired valuable experience working closely with multinational and worldwide financial institutions such as World Bank and maintaining working relationships with state officials, executive leaders and the Press.
RSLB formed its name by using the initial of each of its founders’ surnames. R represents Yuval Rabin, son of Yitzhak Rabin, S represents Sheves Shimon, L represents Amnon Lipkin-Shahak, ex-Chief of Staff and B represents Gil Birger a high-tech entrepreneur.
Sheves Shimon was born in Israel but earned his degrees in public and business administration at the private and co-educational institution of the University of New Haven in the USA.
Apart from his business commitments, Sheves Shimon dedicates his time generously to charities including Aleh, which is Israel’s largest residential facility for children with severe physical and cognitive disabilities. Close to his heart is the new Yitzhak Rabin Center which is Israel’s national institute dedicated to improving the shape of Israeli society by ensuring the legacy of Yitzhak Rabin.
In his private time, Sheves Shimon hobbies include playing tennis, golf, bike riding and mountain climbing.
